Key Responsibilities & Daily Tasks
As a Cleaner placed through StaffDirect, your core duties will be tailored to the specific client site but will generally encompass a comprehensive range of cleaning activities to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
Core Cleaning Duties
- General Surface Cleaning: Dusting, wiping, and polishing all surfaces including desks, shelves, window sills, and fixtures.
- Floor Care: Vacuuming carpets, mopping hard floors, buffing, and occasional strip & seal processes.
- Sanitisation: Thorough cleaning and disinfection of high-touch areas such as door handles, light switches, kitchen appliances, and bathroom fixtures.
- Waste Management: Emptying all bins, replacing liners, and ensuring waste is ready for collection in designated areas.
- Restroom/Toilet Cleaning: Deep cleaning of toilets, sinks, urinals, replenishing supplies (soap, toilet paper, towels).
Additional & Periodic Tasks
- Kitchen/Staff Room Hygiene: Cleaning microwaves, kettles, fridges, and worktops; washing up communal items.
- Window Cleaning: Interior window cleaning and, on some sites, low-level exterior windows.
- Stock Management: Monitoring cleaning supplies and reporting low stock to the supervisor.
- Deep Cleaning: Participating in scheduled deep cleans, such as carpet shampooing, wall washing, and high-level dusting.
- Compliance & Safety: Following all COSHH regulations, safely storing chemicals, and reporting any maintenance issues or hazards.
