As you will know, on March 8th it’s International Women’s Day. So for the month of March, each Monday, we’re going to be highlighting one woman who epitomises the message of this year; “How will you help forge a gender equal world? Celebrate women’s achievement. Raise awareness against bias. Take action for equality.”
First up is Katrina Collier, chosen for many things but specifically here the immense work she has done to get diversity (not just gender) on stage, and in the workplace. In fact I’d say she’s done more than anyone in this regard within the UK recruitment and HR space.
Katrina Collier is on a mission to get all the people who recruit people to treat people better. Through facilitation, she shows companies how to free their human-made recruitment obstacles; improving candidate engagement, reducing ghosting, and ensuring all parties deliver a positive candidate experience. She is the author of The Robot-Proof Recruiter and Mastermind, and delivers keynote talks that inspire recruiters, HR, and hiring managers to improve the recruitment experience for everyone. Katrina is also the host of The Hiring Partner Perspective (Undedited) podcast. .
We wanted to highlight the work she has done launching new speakers through DisruptHR London & the regional events she has run for the last 5 years. She is one of the few organisers to give neuro diverse and disabled speakers a platform, while ensuring the ethnically diverse audience always sees ‘people like them’ on stage. And, she is forever encouraging women to speak up, be that at Disrupt, through The #SocialRecruiting Show and now on her new podcast.
If that was not enough, her events and The Robot-Proof Recruiter book raise funds for Hope for Justice charity, which aims to end modern-day slavery impacting over 40 million people globally and especially women and girls.
