Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Manufacturing and Installing Joinery: Producing and fitting high-quality doors, windows, staircases, skirting, architrave, and bespoke furniture to precise specifications from drawings and site measurements.
• First and Second Fix Works: Completing all aspects of first fix (framing, carcassing) and second fix (installation of finished items, hardware) to a high standard on both new build and refurbishment projects.
• Site Measuring and Material Preparation: Accurately measuring sites, producing cutting lists, selecting appropriate materials, and operating workshop machinery such as planers, saws, and routers safely and efficiently.
• Quality Control and Finishing: Ensuring all work is completed to the highest standard, with attention to detail in finishing, sanding, and preparing surfaces for paint or stain as required.
• Collaboration and Communication: Working effectively as part of a site team, liaising with site managers, other trades, and clients to ensure project timelines are met and work is coordinated seamlessly.
• Maintenance and Repair: Undertaking repair, replacement, and refurbishment of existing joinery items within domestic and commercial properties in the G69 area.

Essential Skills & Requirements

• Proven Experience: A solid track record as a time-served Joiner, with a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent on-site experience. A portfolio of previous work is highly advantageous.
• Full Tool Kit & Transport: Must possess your own full set of hand tools and power tools relevant to the trade, and have reliable transport to get to various sites around G69 and the greater Glasgow region.
• Technical Knowledge: Excellent understanding of joinery techniques, materials (timber, sheet materials, hardware), and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Site Safety Awareness: A strong commitment to health and safety. A valid CSCS card is essential for most site-based roles. Awareness of current building regulations is expected.
• Professional Attitude: Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic are non-negotiable. The ability to work independently using initiative and as part of a team is crucial.
