  • Site Measuring and Material Preparation: Accurately measuring sites, producing cutting lists, selecting appropriate materials, and operating workshop machinery such as planers, saws, and routers safely and efficiently.
  • Quality Control and Finishing: Ensuring all work is completed to the highest standard, with attention to detail in finishing, sanding, and preparing surfaces for paint or stain as required.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Working effectively as part of a site team, liaising with site managers, other trades, and clients to ensure project timelines are met and work is coordinated seamlessly.

Joiner Jobs FAQ

Most clients look for time-served joiners with a minimum of 3-5 years of solid site or workshop experience. You should be proficient in both first and second fix joinery, able to work from drawings, and have your own tools. A valid CSCS card is almost always mandatory for site work. For more niche workshop roles, a portfolio of bespoke work can be as valuable as formal qualifications.

If you have all your documentation ready (CSCS card, right to work, references), the process can be incredibly fast. We have placed joiners on site within 24-48 hours of their initial call. The demand for skilled trades in the G69 area is high, especially for immediate starters. The key is to apply now and be ready for a quick registration interview.

Absolutely. Many of our temporary placements are used by clients as an extended working interview. If you perform well, show reliability and skill, it is very common for clients to offer a temp-to-perm contract after a successful trial period. We actively facilitate these conversions and negotiate the permanent terms on your behalf.

Our G69-based joinery roles are centred on Kirkintilloch and Bishopbriggs, but we regularly place staff in surrounding areas such as Lenzie, Milton of Campsie, Torrance, and even into Glasgow city centre (G1-G5) and the wider East Dunbartonshire and North Lanarkshire regions. When you register, you can specify your preferred travel radius.
