Key Responsibilities & Daily Tasks
As Event Staff in Huddersfield, your day will be varied and engaging. You will be the face of the event, ensuring guests have an exceptional experience from start to finish.
Pre-Event & Setup
- Venue Preparation: Assisting with the setup of furniture, staging, table arrangements, and decorative elements according to event plans.
- Stock & Inventory Management: Receiving and organising delivery of food, beverages, and event materials. Conducting stock checks.
- Safety Checks: Ensuring the event space is safe, clean, and compliant with health and safety regulations before guests arrive.
During the Event
- Guest Services: Welcoming guests, managing registration or ticketing queues, providing directions, and answering inquiries professionally.
- Food & Beverage Service: Serving canapés, drinks, and plated meals. Clearing tables efficiently and maintaining a tidy environment.
- Logistics Support: Assisting with audio-visual equipment, managing cloakrooms, and facilitating smooth transitions between event segments.
Post-Event & Breakdown
Your role continues after the last guest leaves. Responsibilities include packing down equipment, cleaning the venue, handling waste disposal, and returning inventory. This is a crucial part of the role, ensuring the venue is left in perfect condition and fostering repeat business for our clients—and more work for you.

Essential Qualities

- Reliability & Punctuality: Event timelines are strict. You must be on time, every time.
- Physical Stamina: The role involves prolonged standing, walking, and lifting/moving items (up to Health & Safety guidelines).
- Smart Presentation: A professional appearance is required; uniform or dress code will be provided.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience in hospitality, catering, customer service, or as Event Staff.
- Knowledge of food safety (Level 2 Food Hygiene) is a strong advantage.
- Experience using EPOS systems or event management software.
- A flexible schedule, including availability for evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
- Own transport is beneficial but not essential for venues in central Huddersfield HD1.
No Formal Experience? No Problem.
