Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for a diverse caseload of patients, including those with chronic diseases, post-operative needs, and malnutrition.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualised care plans and therapeutic diets in accordance with best practice and clinical guidelines.
- Provide evidence-based nutritional education and counselling to patients, their families, and other healthcare staff.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient records using the organisation's clinical systems.
- Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, attending ward rounds and case conferences to contribute nutritional expertise.
- Stay current with the latest developments in dietetics and clinical nutrition, applying new knowledge to practice.
- Participate in clinical audit and service improvement projects to enhance patient care.
- Support and mentor student dietitians and other junior staff as required.
Essential Requirements & Qualifications
- A recognised degree in Dietetics or Nutrition, and registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Dietitian.
- Proven post-registration experience working as a Dietitian in a clinical setting, preferably within the NHS or an acute care environment.
- Strong knowledge of clinical nutrition, dietary management, and therapeutic diets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly to patients and colleagues.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload autonomously while working effectively within a team.
- Commitment to continued professional development (CPD).
- Eligibility to work in the UK without restriction.
