Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties
As the successful Painter & Decorator, you will be responsible for delivering a flawless finish across a variety of projects. Your role is crucial to maintaining our client's outstanding reputation.
- Preparing surfaces to a high standard, including sanding, filling, stripping, and washing down walls, ceilings, woodwork, and metal.
- Mixing and matching paints, stains, and varnishes to specified colours and textures, ensuring consistency across large areas.
- Applying paints, primers, and finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray guns with expert technique on both interior and exterior projects.
- Hanging wallpaper (both standard and specialised), applying decorative finishes such as rag-rolling, marbling, or stencilling where required.
- Protecting furniture, fixtures, and flooring with dust sheets and tape; ensuring a clean, safe, and tidy worksite at all times.
- Working from ladders, platforms, and scaffolding safely and in accordance with all health and safety regulations (CSCS card required).
- Reading and interpreting job sheets and plans, ensuring work is completed to schedule and within the allocated timeframe.
- Providing excellent customer service on-site, communicating professionally with site managers, clients, and other trades like Scaffold Labourers.
